Today was the first one of long driving days we have on this traverse. We traveled 77.8 km over 12 hours.
Altitude: 2970m
Air temperature (23:00 local time): -33.4 degrees C
It does not sound too friendly, but it is actually not bad at all. Activities traverse members engage in range from some science such as data processing, to some entertainment like listening to music. But one of the most popular one is audio-books, digital recordings of someone reading books for you! It seems to fit the needs of members very well as most of audio-books seem to be about 10 hours long. Also the nice thing about them is that they are easily exchangeable. So we are taking full advantages of available technologies to keep ourselves happy. But someone said, 'Amundsen will be laughing at us, is this really a journey to the South Pole?!'
