The Pirate Map
Getting ready to go is all about planning, knowing what goes where and "the Pirate Map" of what went where!!
Location: South Pole
Weather: Sunny, -27 C, wind 5 kts
Most of us spent the day making piles of gear and loading it onto sleds in the order it will be used ... Einar and Ole stacked an organized the food for the trip. Zoe, Tom, Anna and Lou made piles of their science gear and then loaded and strapped it down on the designated science sled. John and Svein inventoried mechanical parts and used the cranes to put things in their place on workshop sled. Kirsty continued to outfit the Radar sled and Andreas was up and down the ladder fitting his weather station to the top of the living module. Stein and Ted where helping out and about with all and continue to work on the route north. It was a beautiful day - minus 27c and just a bit windy. The ice crystals (fairy dust) floated in and out of the area creating some very nice displays of halos and arcs.
