- Maudheim AWS installation and firn temperature analyses
- Drone testing, establish fuel cache (Troll Station)
- Locate and analyze historical data from region
- Traverse planning meeting (in New Hampshire in June)

Year 2 (2007-2008)
- Traverse from Troll Station to South Pole Station
- Collect intermediate and shallow cores
- Core processing at NICL
- Air-snow exchange modeling
- NPI atmospheric sampling continues
- Submit data to project archive
- Traverse planning meeting (location TBD)
- Publication of initial results (AGU, EGU)
- Education and outreach activities
Year 3 (2008-2009)
- Traverse from South Pole Station to Troll Station
- Collect intermediate and shallow cores
- Core processing
