Remote sensing by satellite and airborne (UAV) sensors will complement the ground data collected on the traverse. This will greatly expand the area coverage of comparable data on snow and firn properties in the region visited by the traverse.

The Cryowing UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) of Norut AS will fly research instrumentation over a wide area during the traverse.
